BOOM MOMENT IN HISTORY

On this day in 1997, hip-hop received Biggie Smalls second and final studio album Life After Death. It generated smash hits like “Hypnotize, “Mo Money, Mo Problems” and “Sky’s The Limit.” Hip-hop fans alike rushed to grab his album to help mourn his death which only took place 2 weeks prior on March 9, 1997.

The 24-track double disc was released under Bad Boy Records and featured Jay Z, Puff Daddy, Mase and Bone Thugs N Harmony. The album is one of the only few hip-hop albums to every be certified diamond and made the list of Rolling Stones ‘500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.’

The subliminal messages in the title and verses are still eerie looking back and listening to the album today, but the music Biggie created in a short period of time remains timeless and still after all these years still in unmatched by many who try.
