8 Year Old Girl Protects Her Father From Armed Robber

In Maplewood, Minnesota, an armed robber thought he was going to get away smoothly in his attempted to rob a liquor store, but it turns out he had another thing coming.

The intruder, Conchobhar Morrell, disguised himself as an Amazon employee and walked into the liquor store owned by Leo. Leo was also watching his 8 year old daughter at his store that day. Morrell then goes to attempt to rob the store.

“he put the gun on the table, he asked me to give him all the money and everything in the register, I told him yes – I’ll give you everything” Leo told the reporters.

With his 8 year old daughter behind the counter with him, Leo did what he had to do to protect his daughter. Leo told Morrell that he will give him all of the money, however Morrell did not listen. Morrell insisted on going behind the camera, when Leo swung a punch on Morrell in hopes to protect his daughter.

During the fight between the two grown men, Leo’s 8 year old daughter saw her dad in need of help, so she decided to take matters in her own hands. She grabbed a bat nearest to her and started beating up the intruder with it to help her dad out.

His daughter hit the suspect a few times before running away. Leo said he didn’t even know his daughter did that until he watched the surveillance footage back.

“I’m so proud of her, she is so strong” Leo says to describe his daughter.

The next day, Leo asked his daughter what made her do that, and her response was that she wanted to defend her daddy and that she loves him so much.
