After four years of offering free parking, SEPTA is reinstating its parking fees. Parking fees were suspended back in 2020 in hopes for customers to start using public transportation after the pandemic hit.

Even though they are bringing the fees back, they plan to do such in phases. You can find the reinstatement schedule here.

A SEPTA spokesperson stated that the news fees are expected to bring in an additional $6 million in revenue. The extra cash is also planned to go into maintenance and getting the budget back to the green line.

SEPTA was also awarded a $12.3 million dollar contract to Flowbird America, which will develop a state of the art user experience. Riders will be able to pay for parking fees with the SEPTA parking app, kiosks, or via text message.

On parking sites, SEPTA plans on having ambassadors on site to answer any customer questions.
