Piers Morgan issued a public apology to Jay-Z and Beyoncé after airing claims against the couple from blogger Jaguar Wright.
The interview was on the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” in which Wright discussed claims of sex trafficking against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z. Morgan has since edited those parts out after a few attorneys reached out to his team.
Wright also used the platform to air unsubstantiated allegations against Jay-Z and Beyoncé, saying the couple was involved in similar Diddy situations. The lawyers that notified Morgan and his team noted the claims were “totally false and have no basis in fact.” They also stated that his show was complying with a legal request to remove parts of the interview.
Morgan made a statement saying: “Editing interviews is not something we do lightly at a show called ‘Uncensored’ but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theater, there are legal limits on us too, and we apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé”
Wright has yet to comment on the situation.
