The Portal Has Arrived To Philadelphia

The viral “Portal” art instillation was just installed in Philadelphia over the weekend and it already has the city talking.
The portal is an instillation that is a 24 hour live stream that connects different cities in the United States to three different countries. The portal flips from location to location every three minutes or so. The other locations of the portal are Vilnius, Lithuania; Lublin, Portland; Dublin, Ireland; and soon coming to Piaui, Brazil.
The opening of the portal was this morning (Oct 22) and the instillation has a crack in it. Although Philadelphia is known to be a rowdy city, the crack was not due by violence. During the instillation, the install team placed the portal in its holder too tight causing it to crack. Photos of the crack went viral on social media over the weekend, prompting plenty of comments lamenting Philadelphia’s inability to have nice things.
The Portal will be in the city until November 7th.
