Kohl’s has announced to closure of more than two dozen stores, and some locations in our region will be apart of those impacted.

The department store chain said that 27 of the underperforming stores will be closed by April. The stores that will be shutting down their doors include the locations at 351 W Schuylkill Rd and 72 Princeton Highstown Rd in East Windsor, NJ.

Kohl’s CEO Tom Kingsbury said in a statement “As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is importantly that we also take difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our business for our customers and our teams.”

The company is calling the closers a “real estate change” for 2025. The closures come on the heels of a tumultuous year for many retailers and fast-food chains. Other franchises that closed some doors in 2024 were Advanced Auto Parts, JOANN Inc, Big Lots, and Red Lobsters.
