As TikTok is set to shut down in the U.S. by January 19th, multiple millionaires (even billionaires) have bid on the viral social media app just to keep it in America.

Youtube Sensation MrBeast is the latest Celebrity to bid for the popular mobile app.

“Okay fine, I’ll buy Tik Tok so it doesn’t get banned” MrBeast reluctantly posted on X.

Who is MrBeast?

James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, is a YouTube streamer, and well known media personality. He is known for hosting the reality television series Beast Games, and was recently recognized as the most successful streamer on Youtube.

As of January 2025, MrBeast had 343 million subscribers on YouTube. With more subscribers, than living people in America, MrBeast’s channel is the most-subscribed channel in YouTube history.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, also was seen activity wanting to buy the platform from its developers.

When Will TikTok Shut Down?

TikTok is schedule to be banned by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 19th, 2025. The mobile application will no longer be available for download in the Apple ‘App Store’ or ‘Google Play’.

The Supreme Court heard arguments for two-and-a-half hours on Friday (Jan. 10) over whether TikTok can be banned in the United States in less than one week.

Keeping TikTok available for consumers in America is pivotal, as lawyers for TikTok and ByteDance have argued that a shutdown of just a month would cause TikTok to lose about one-third of its daily users in the U.S. and significant advertising revenue.
