ICE Raids Philadelphia Car Wash In Juniata Park Section

Video was obtained by Channel 6 Action News that shows a raid by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The raid happened at a car wash in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia. In the video, it shows ICE agents at Complete Autowash. According to the advocacy group New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia, ICE officers took seven people into customs. Most of the people they took had been in the country for more than a decade.

Just this week, ICE reported more than 3,000 arrest — just shy of 1,000 on Sunday and Tuesday, and nearly 1,200 on Monday. Due to an executive order signed back in 2016 by-then-mayor Jim Kennedy, police will not comply with ICE enforcement or detain individuals unless ICE has obtained a judicial warrant. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel stated: “ICE is working and doing what their function is but we continue to work in that posture.”

The Trump administration stated it would focus of deporting immigrants without legal status who have committed violent offensive first. As the raids and mass deportations continued, administration officials stated they are now looking for those with or without criminal record.

Administration officials have already stated that the raids could target places of employment, schools, and churches. Earlier in the week, there was an incident as a restaurant in North Philadelphia were the owner said ICE officers attempted a warrantless sweep of the business, but the owner denied them access.
