Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was reportedly stabbed multiple times in the face during an altercation at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi on Monday morning. The 32-year-old, currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital in Bakersfield. While the injuries were severe enough to require immediate medical attention, sources indicate they are not life-threatening.

The incident occurred in the prison yard, but details about the motive or the identity of the assailant remain unclear. Lanez’s legal team has yet to issue a statement regarding the attack.

Lanez was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 and is eligible for parole in 2029.

Despite his incarceration, Lanez has remained musically active. In March 2025, he released his eighth studio album, “Peterson,” recorded entirely while in prison using AI technology. The album, which Lanez described as the “first ever in-real-time prison album,” features contributions from family members and various producers.

Lanez’s legal team has indicated plans to appeal his conviction, maintaining his innocence in the shooting incident.

As of now, no official statement has been made by prison authorities or Lanez’s representatives regarding the stabbing incident. Fans and supporters await further updates on his condition and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
